Terms of Use
By using RIIVA, you accept these terms. Read them before using the platform.
Courtesy translation. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.
1. Purpose and publisher
RIIVA is a brand of Mahtos Technologies. The RIIVA platform is published by Mahtos Technologies, a sole proprietorship (NINEA 013450375 · RCCM SN.DKR.2026.A.39852), whose registered office is at Rue 37 x 26, Médina, Arr. Plateau, Dakar, Sénégal, represented by its legal representative, Hermann Therence Bokapa. It is designed and developed in Africa by Mahtos Technologies.
These terms govern access to and use of the RIIVA platform (website, organizer, advertiser, partner and staff spaces, e-tickets) by visitors, attendees and organizers.
2. Definitions
"Platform": the RIIVA online service. "User": anyone who accesses it. "Attendee" or "Buyer": the User who books or buys a ticket. "Organizer": the User who publishes an event and sells tickets. "Ticket": an access pass, named or not, identified by a unique QR code. "Service fees": RIIVA's remuneration described in article 7. "Mahtos Solo": the identity service used to create and secure the account.
3. Acceptance and changes
Any access to or use of the Platform implies acceptance of these terms. If you do not accept them, stop using it.
The terms may be updated; the date and version number are shown. A change is not deemed accepted in every situation without adequate information: significant changes are notified to you, and a new acceptance may be requested (notably from Organizers).
4. Account and Mahtos Solo
Accounts are created with Mahtos Solo. You undertake to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your access confidential and for all activity carried out from your account; report any unauthorized use without delay to legal@mahtos.online.
The Organizer, Advertiser and Partner roles are granted after validation by the RIIVA team and may be suspended or withdrawn under article 12.
5. Role of RIIVA
RIIVA is a technical intermediary: it connects Organizers and Attendees and provides ticketing tools. RIIVA is neither the organizer nor the seller of events.
The ticket sale contract is concluded directly between the Attendee and the Organizer, who remains solely responsible for the event (content, safety, permits, access, running, refunds).
For Mobile Money payments, the price is paid directly to the Organizer on the numbers they declared. RIIVA does not hold these funds and does not guarantee their collection.
6. Booking and tickets
A booking is held for 24 hours pending payment; after that, the seats are put back on sale. The Attendee pays according to the Organizer's instructions and sends proof (a screenshot showing the sender's number and name); the Organizer confirms the order after checking that the funds were actually received.
Once the order is confirmed, an e-ticket with a QR code is made available. Each code can be validated only once. Guest checkout gives access to the order through a confidential link: keep it and do not share it.
Reselling or duplicating a ticket outside the means provided by RIIVA is prohibited. RIIVA may cancel a ticket of fraudulent or duplicated origin.
7. Prices and service fees
Ticket prices are set by the Organizer and displayed with applicable taxes. RIIVA's service fees follow a public grid (About page, "Fees" section): they are calculated on the ticket price excluding tax, are subject to the applicable VAT, and are borne by the Buyer unless the Organizer chooses to include them in the price.
Payment fees, when enabled, will appear on a separate line. A free event carries no fee.
8. Cancellation, postponement and refund
If an event is cancelled, the Organizer refunds Attendees the ticket price and the service fees paid, within the deadlines set by the Organizer contract. No service fee is due to RIIVA on a refunded order.
If an event is postponed, tickets remain valid for the new date; an Attendee who cannot attend may request a refund from the Organizer under the conditions announced by the Organizer. Unless the law provides otherwise, a ticket cannot be exchanged or refunded outside these cases.
9. Rules of conduct and fraud prevention
It is prohibited to: publish a fictitious, misleading or unlawful event; impersonate someone or provide false information; falsify proof of payment or confirm an order without receiving the funds; bypass the Platform to sell tickets generated by it; create multiple accounts to evade a suspension; harm the security or operation of the service; extract data from it in an automated and abusive way.
RIIVA may verify Organizers' identity, monitor unusual activity, suspend sales or accounts, keep evidence (technical logs) and report facts to the competent authorities. See also the anti-fraud policy.
10. Intellectual property
The RIIVA and Mahtos brands, and the software, texts, graphics and databases of the Platform belong to Mahtos Technologies or its licensors. Access to the Platform gives no ownership right over these elements.
The content you publish (visuals, descriptions) remains yours; you grant RIIVA a non-exclusive right to display and promote it for the purposes of the service. You warrant that you hold the necessary rights.
11. Personal data
The processing of your data is described in the privacy policy. Organizers are responsible for the Attendees' data they receive and may only use it for the event concerned.
12. Availability, suspension and termination
Access is provided without a guarantee of permanent availability; maintenance or technical interruptions may occur.
RIIVA may suspend or close an account, remove an event or block sales in case of breach of these terms or of the Organizer contract, serious suspicion of fraud or unpaid service fees, without prejudice to any remedy. You may request closure of your account by writing to legal@mahtos.online, subject to ongoing obligations.
13. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Mahtos Technologies cannot be held liable for indirect damages, nor for the cancellation, content or running of events, nor for failures of payment or network operators.
Liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, and mandatory consumer rights, are expressly preserved.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Senegalese law, subject to mandatory rules applicable to protected users. The parties first seek an amicable solution; failing that, the competent courts of Senegal have jurisdiction.
